Netflix Inc (NASDAQ: NFLX) has big plans for the fall season. The streaming giant announced it will release 42 original movies by the end of 2021. According to CNBC senior media and tech reporter Julia Boorstin, this marks an increase of more than double compared to what movie lovers would expect this time of the year.

However, the notable uptick in new film launches is in part due to films that were scheduled to be released earlier this year but were plagued with delays. Regardless, the coming months will serve as a testing period to see if Netflix can manage to deliver high quality and original content at scale, Boorstin said.

Investors will be paying close attention to see if a surge in Netflix’s new content translates to an acceleration in subscriber growth. After all, Netflix is betting big with notable Hollywood stars. With that said, here is a small selection of some of the more notable films we are anxiously waiting to watch.

Worth

Who doesn’t like Michael Keaton, right? Paired with Stanley Tucci? With the side of bureaucracy and politics? Releasing on September 3rd on Netflix, ‘Worth’ has it all.

Out of the 11 titles scheduled for September, this 9/11 themed movie, we believe, will take the lead.

Army of Thieves

Action, crime, and horror – put it all together, and you have this masterpiece by Zack Snyder.

If there’s one thing we have learned from the success of “Money Heist” and “The Walking Dead”, it’s that people love heists, and they love zombies on screen. Releasing on October 6th on Netflix, Army of Thieves promises you both.

Red Notice

Red Notice is coming on Netflix on November 12th. There’s much that could be said about this action-comedy but let’s do it differently. It stars The Rock, Wonder Woman, and Deadpool – go ahead, try not to be excited about this one.

The Power of the Dog

After a blockbuster performance in Sherlock Holmes, The Power of the Dog is a nice change of pace for the veteran actor Benedict Cumberbatch. Streaming on Netflix on December 1st, this drama-romance is perfectly suited to a lighthearted mood on a mundane Sunday afternoon.
